Question
1 - There are many ideas about how the world will ‘end’. Do you think
the world will end someday? Have you ever thought what would happen if the sun
got so hot that it ‘burst’, or grew colder and colder?
Hindi
explanation – Duniya khatm kese hogi, is
bare me kai vichar he. Kya apko lagta he ki kisi din duniya khatm ho jayegi?
Kya apne kabhi socha he ki yadi sun itna hot ho jaye ki fat jaye, ya thanda or
thand ho jaye to kya higa?
Answer - There are many ideas about how the world will ‘end’. According to
the poem some people believe that the world will end in fire and some believe
that the world will end in ice. As far as I am concerned I do believe that the world
will end someday because anything that has a beginning will have an end. If the
sun got so hot the whole of the earth would die immediately because the earth
cannot bear the heat of the sun. If the sun grows colder and colder everything
will come to an end because without sunlight life will end.
Hindi
explanation – Duniya ka ant kese hoga, is bare
me kai vichar he. Kaivta ke anusar kuch logo ka manna he ki duniya ka ant fire
se hoga or kuch mante he ki cold se hoga. Jha tak mera manna he mujhe lagta he
kisi din duniya khatma ho jayegi kyoki jis chij ki suruat he uska ant hoga.
Agar surya itna jayada garm hota he puri earh khatm ho jayegi kyoki earth jyada
heat sahan nahi kar sakti he.or agar sun jyada thanda hota he to bina garmi or
light ke bhi world finish ho jayega.

Question number 3
What is the rhyme scheme of the poem? How does
it help in bringing out the contrasting ideas in the poem?
Hindi
explanation – is poem
ki rhyme scheme kya he? Yah kavita mein vipareet vichaaron ko saamane laane
mein kaise madad karata hai?
Answer -
The rhyme scheme of this poem is: a,
b, a, a; b, c, b, c, b.
The rhyme scheme of the poem helps in
bringing out the contrasting ideas of ‘fire’ and ‘ice’ presented in the poem.
The poet mentions that both fire and ice are possibly end of this world. In the
second stanza he says that he knows of enough hate in the world to be sure that
even devastation through ice would be sufficient to bring about the end of the
world.
Hindi
explanation -is kavita ki
rhyme scheme hai: a, b, a, a; b, c, b, c, b.
kavita ki
rhyme scheme kavita mein prastut agni aur barph ke vipareet vichaaron ko
saamane laane mein madad karatee hai. kavi ka ullekh hai ki aag aur barph donon
sambhavatah is duniya ka ant hain. doosare stanza mein vah kahata hai ki vah
