Today we are going to read and write "No Men are Foreignfor class 9 English Chapter 6(B)  explanation with question answer.

Thinking about the Poem 

(1) (i) "Beneath all uniforms... .. ".What uniforms do you think the poet in speaking about ? 

(ii) How does the poet suggest that all people on earth are the same ?  

Ans. 

(i) The poet speaks about the various dresses that people of various countries wear but beneath them, the human body is same. 

(ii) The poet says that nobody is different and peculiar. No country is strange, a single body breathes beneath all uniforms. Moreover the land is same everywhere.


 (2) In stanza 1, find five ways in which we all are like. Pick out the words. 

Ans. In stanza I, the poet says- 

1. We wear different clothes but body is same. 

2. We walk on the same planet. 

3. End of each individual is same. 

4. We all eat. 

5. We all take water. 


(3) How many common features can you find in stanza 2 ? Pick out the words. 

Ans. The following common features are given in stanza 2. 

1. Sun

2. Air 

3. Water 

4. Peaceful harvests required for human survival 

5. Same hands 


(4) "Whenever we are told to hate our brothers...." When do you think this happens ? Why ? Who tells us ? Should we do as we are told at such times ? What does the poet say ? 

Ans. Sometimes, some selfish people instigate the innocent people to harm others. They do it for their own benefit. The common man does not understand their tricks and start hating his fellow human beings. They tell them to riots. The poet says that one should not follow anybody's advice without thinking over it. 

           The poet repeatedly says that there is no difference in them and foreigners. The people of the entire world are the same.
